Pastel on Pastelmat

Barbara's cat Percy

I first painted Percy, in coloured pencil, when she was a kitten.
Twelve years on this is her portrait in pastel pencil on Pastelmat.

Lis's Cat Phoebe

This is the first black cat that I have painted in any medium. I used Pitt pastel pencils on anthracite Pastelmat. To obtain a rich black, I under painted the darkest fur with prussian blue, then I used black and various greys, pale blue and white to model it.
